Several tenants of the Cities belonging to the Société Immobilière du Cameroun (SIC) have not honored their rental payment commitment for several years and are still seeking to bypass the mesh of the SIC in the cities of Yaoundé, Douala, Garoua, Buea, Bertoua , etc. The new Director General of the SIC, Ahmadou Sardaouna, took the bull by the horns by publishing a list of 452 tenants in arrears who should vacate the occupied housing. Such an operation may hide another. CLC could clarify the phenomenon of subletting decried for decades and flush out all those who occupy its homes without them having a contract. It should be noted that this scourge of squatters and / or usurpers concerns more than 25% of SIC housing. The sums due to SIC are estimated at more than 431 million CFA francs.
