The benefits of digitization for intra-African trade

Intra-African trade: digital commerce in the spotlight

There is no doubt that the world has entered a process of immaterial economics. As if to say that from now on, the bulk of the exchanges is done through the electronic commerce. Indeed, in the case of Africa, it is a matter of optimizing this trade to better integrate it into the African economy. It is in this movement of spirit that Yaoundé has held since yesterday an international conference on one-stop shops. This is about getting around the problem of physical infrastructure to introduce electronics. This is the focus of the 7th International Single Window Conference, which focused on "unlocking the potential of e-commerce and optimizing the international supply chain of coastal countries". At a time when African countries are really committed to building a vast market across the African Continental Free Trade Area, it is important to connect a large number of people, 1.3 billion, to an integrated economy. The conference is therefore a place of exchange and reflection for the improvement of electronic commerce. Indeed, it is a question of setting up a process for a better optimization of the cross-border exchanges taking into account the administrative burden which encumbers causing a brake to the exchanges in Cameroon. Hence its commitment to the one-stop shop for reducing delays, simplifying procedures, securing transactions and dematerialization.
