Where did the buses leave for mass urban transport in Yaoundé?

STECY headquarters in Bata Nlongkak

At the head office of the Society of Public Transport and Utilities of Yaounde (Stecy S.A), located at the crossroads "Bata Nlongkak" in Yaoundé, it is no longer of great affluence. Indeed, it rolls in slow motion on this side. Thus, since the suspension of the strike strike on July 17, the Company no longer provides maximum service, "until our demands have been met," says the chief of staff. For the moment, five lines benefit from the services of Stecy. As a result, there are only 16 buses left to transport the Yaounde, the remaining 19 remained at the dock. This is precisely the consequence of the myriad claims made by the chief of staff of this mass urban transport company. Among these claims, we have: the improvement of working and living conditions. In fact, there is much more discussion of the issue of wage mismanagement, namely irregular wages, non-payment of premiums and other allowances. "In addition to working beyond normal hours (5h-21), without breaks or meals and even less appropriate equipment, we demand more than a year of unpaid wages," say staff delegates. The narrowing of the car fleet due to irregular breakdowns is one of the causes of turbulence in the company. Meanwhile, the Board is looking for ways to get out of the crisis. In short, the company is going through difficult times.
