The Minister of Public Health visits the specialized Covid-19 care centers in Yaoundé
The Minister of Public Health (MINSANTE), Dr Manaouda Malachie, visited the two special centers for the care of patients with Covid-19 (“CSPP-COVID-19” for short), Tuesday April 28 2020; CSPP du Stade Militaire and Mvog-Mbi, a place called "Carrefour Zoe", in the former building of the luxury equipment company ORCA. These have a capacity of 595 beds (275 and 320 beds respectively). These two Yaoundé CSPPs are under the responsibility of the Yaoundé Central Hospital (HCY). The CSPP-COVID-19 are responsible for the administration of care and medical follow-up for victims and are subject to the rules of operation and organization of public health services. MINSANTE said that "We are satisfied with what has been done. We are facing a pandemic and we have to plan everything. We continue to follow other specialized centers in other regions of the country. " The epidemiological situation linked to Covid-19 is constantly changing. The figures communicated by Dr Fanne Mahamat, Director of Health Promotion at MINSANTE, Cameroon has 1806 infected people and 59 deaths, ie 101 new cases and one death for the day of April 28, 2020. However, 915 patients have recovered health.
