A platform to perfect the credibility of the body in charge of elections in Cameroon: Elecam
In order to promote peaceful, inclusive and transparent elections, Elecam has just created a platform for dialogue. It is about the regulatory mission of its branches, working in direct and close collaboration with stakeholders. Human rights issues, the inclusion of all layers, gender mainstreaming, challenge the body in charge of elections to work with civil society. In the same way, the political parties, invested with the support to the expression of the universal suffrage, are at the heart of the process, playing also an acute partition in the important stage of sensitization with the aim of the inscriptions on the electoral lists. In view of all this, there is an urgent interest in creating a permanent and regular contact platform with the imperious duty of making and letting Elecam know who is responsible. It goes without saying that the electoral meetings are not complacent formalities. This inclusive and open approach is the prerequisite for all Democrats, who are peace-loving and respectful of the rules governing the democratic game.
