Crédit Foncier du Cameroun (CFC) would like to finance the construction and management of municipal housing estates to the tune of CFAF 30 billion.

The information was made public at a workshop on project design and development organized on Wednesday November 22, 2023 in Yaoundé by the Fonds spécial d'Equipement et d'Intervention Intercommunal (FEICOM). It should be noted that mayors have a duty, alongside the government, to provide decent, affordable housing for the population. However, if they are to play an effective role in reducing the housing deficit in Cameroon, they need to raise the funds they need to achieve this objective. The DG/FEICOM's practical advice for the commune to benefit from this financing window is: "Choose the sites on which you want to build well, own the land titles; but above all, respect the repayment deadlines".

Key figures:

  •      Wednesday November 22, 2023: opening of the seminar to raise awareness among mayors of the procedures for implementing and managing over 1,500 municipal housing units. In the presence of FEICOM CEO Philippe Camille AKOA and Crédit Foncier du Cameroun (CFC) CEO Paul MESSI, the main lender.
  •      30 billion is being made available to the 360 communes and 14 urban communities by the CFC in the form of a loan.
