Imprimerie nationale: Employees announce a strike to obtain the dismissal of the DG accused of embezzlement

National printing house

On December 29, the Union of Polygraphic Book Industries and Similar of Mfoundi (SIPLAM) appealed to the President of the Republic to announce a strike and demand the dismissal of the DG of the National Printing Office (IN). Recurrent strikes, loss of contracts, cessation of payments, the wrath of suppliers, withholding of union dues not paid, pensioners in dire straits because they are not covered by the Social Security Fund are all grievances attributed to the current director, Mr. Paul Walter KOMO. According to the trade unionists, the principle of separation of powers between the authorizing officer and the accountant is not respected at the National Printing Office. There, we learn, everything is centralized at the level of the DG who manages the public enterprise like "a family grocery store, for unavowed purposes to the detriment of the regal missions assigned to this enterprise by the government". For the time being, there has not yet been an official response to SIPLAM's outburst. According to Mr. Walter Paul KOMO, the company's cash flow tensions are due, among other things, to the low rate of debt collection. He added that the company is unable to meet its orders.
