Cameroon overtakes Gabon to become the main player in the BEAC securities market at the end of March 2022
As of March 31, 2022, the Cameroonian Treasury was credited with just over CFAF 1.3 trillion in outstanding securities on the public securities market of the BEAC, the issuing institution common to the six CEMAC states. According to the data compiled by the BEAC's Securities Settlement and Custody Unit, the Gabonese Treasury is once again on the second step of the podium, with outstanding securities of CFAF 1,288.2 billion. This represents 25.3% of the total outstanding amount, against 25.6% for Cameroon and 24.6% for Congo (i.e. 1250.1 billion FCFA).
