These are in fact two projects that fall under phase I of the tourist and economic development project of the municipal lake and the renovation of the MINGOA valley in Yaoundé. The MINGOA Valley is a vast area that practically starts from the National Gendarmerie Camp Yeyap on one side, and on the other side, it runs from the National Assembly to the former Presidency. All of the planned work will change the face of the mythical municipal lake in Yaoundé. Regarding the development of the municipal lake of Yaoundé, the works include: - Development of the surroundings of the lake with a pedestrian path and landscaping; - widening of the bypass roads of the lake; - construction of a restaurant and boarding docks for water sports, etc. This work will be carried out by the Spanish company Elecnor. The construction costs are estimated at 14.5 billion CFA francs and will be financed by a loan from Deutsche Bank Spain, and for a period of 24 months. This project, which has been postponed several times, started on January 4, 2021. The renovation of the MINGOA valley concerns, among other things: - the construction of a 5-star luxury hotel with approximately 400 rooms; - the construction of an annex building, an auditorium which will be an ultramodern conference center, etc. Construction costs are estimated at more than 80 billion CFA francs.
