Development of hierarchical roads according to traffic in the Olembe agglomeration

The government and its partners are setting up hierarchical traffic lanes in the agglomeration of Olembe at the northern exit of the city of Yaoundé. It is also about the "Great bypass roads" connecting the heavy axes Yaoundé-Bafoussam and Yaoundé-Soa. For public authorities, the objective is threefold. The first step is to meet the demand for travel in the northern part of the city. Good continuity with the large infrastructure network is essential. Then, it is a question of avoiding as much as possible the intramural passage of transit traffic. But the effectiveness of this development will remain conditioned by the responses to a recurring debate, the saturation of the Yaoundé-Bafoussam axes in the north and Yaoundé-Soa in the north-west of Yaoundé. Finally, the construction of a new town.
