The University of Yaoundé I (UYI) is made up of eight (08) establishments and today has 72,380 students for the 2020-2021 academic year, distributed as follows: FALSH (27986), FS (32061), FMSB (3898), FSE (2170), ENS (3032), ENSPY (1599), IUT-BOIS (384), and ENSET (1250). During the current academic year 2020-2021, the UYI registered 28,356 students. The UYI has 1155 teachers, including 357 in the Faculty of Sciences (FS), 494 support staff. The latest teacher recruitments have enabled the UYI to achieve an average teacher-training ratio compatible with UNESCO's qualitative data. 298 doctoral theses, PhD., Were defended during the 2019/2020 academic year, including 154 in FALSH and 144 in FS. The success rates are as follows in 2019/2020: FALSH (L1 55.62%, L2 80.23%, L3 82.76%, M1 75.58%), FS (L1 35.75%, L2 66.57 %, L3 61.34%, M1 55.13%), FMSB (95.9%) with Ondotostomatology 97%, Pharmacy 96.2% General medicine 94%, FSE (93.36%), ENS (94.14 %), ENSPY (90.70%), IUT-BOIS (80%), and ENSET (97.35%). The teaching coverage rate is over 80% in all establishments. The UYI was awarded in January 2021, by the ranking agency Webometrics, the 3rd most visible universities in Sub-Saharan Africa.
