Covid-19: Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute sounds the alarm on the dangers of loosening barrier measures

PM calls for redoubled vigilance in the fight against Covid-19

The epidemiological situation continues to remain under the control of health authorities across the country. However, cases of contamination are increasing in some regions of Cameroon, particularly on the coast and in the west of the country. This is what emerges from the evaluation meeting of the government's strategy to fight the Covid-19 pandemic. From around 80 to 100 cases of contamination by the beginning of November, we have grown to 500 cases, or even more, in the last two weeks. Statistics of the disease in Cameroon, on Friday, November 20, 2020, show 23,528 infected people, 22,177 patients cured, a cure rate of 95% and 435 cases of death. The recommendation made by the Prime Minister Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute, is to increase vigilance within the population, airports and ports, and in the various public and private administrations for compliance with the barrier measures prescribed by the President of the Republic and WHO.
