Campaigns to combat non-compliant plastic packaging

Non-biodegradable plastic packaging whose thickness is less than 60 micron is resistant despite its prohibition by a text of the Ministry of the Environment, Nature Protection and Sustainable Development (MINEPDED). Pursuant to the decree of the Prime Minister laying down the procedures for the transfer of powers to decentralized territorial communities, the urban communities are multiplying in urban markets and neighborhoods campaigns against this waste, the effects of which on the environment and health are irreversible and inexorable. On these occasions, large quantities of waste are collected by "hunters" of plastics for the survival of the environment and the prevention of health risks (cancer, harmful products, etc.).
Key figures
• 1,015,035 tons of industrial solid waste collected per year since 2006;
• 6 million tonnes per year of municipal waste;
• 600,000 tonnes per year of plastic waste (10% municipal waste);
