Yaoundé - Nsimalen highway section "open countryside"

The Cabinet Council of Wednesday July 29, 2020 was devoted to the review of the country's highway projects. Regarding the Yaoundé - Nsimalen highway, Ms. Célestine KETCHA COURTES, Minister of Housing and Urban Development (MINHDU), presented its level of achievement, a linear distance of 23.3 km, divided into two sections . On the "open country" section, 11.3 km long, the work progress rate is 90%. Following the liberation of the rights-of-way, the pace of work has accelerated with a view to opening up this section to traffic during the CHAN 2021 and CAN 2022 competitions. As regards the urban section of a length of 12 km, studies have already been carried out and contracts awarded to three groups of companies. The government has undertaken due diligence in order to mobilize the financing necessary to carry out the work in this section. As other highway projects to be built: Yaoundé - Douala (196 km), Edéa - Kribi - Lolabe (130 km), Bafoussam - Bamenda (116 km), Yaoundé / Douala - Bafoussam intersection (250 km), Yaoundé - Ngaoundéré - Garoua - Maroua - Kousseri - Ndjamena (1500 km).
