FECAFOOT decides to end the 2019/2020 sports season

A meeting of the Professional Football League, MTN Elite One

The Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) made the decision to end the 2019/2020 sports season on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, during a session of the Cameroon Football Federation's Executive Committee held by videoconference due to the threat of Covid-19. This decision was announced by its president, Seidou Mbombo Njoya, a guest at 8:30 p.m. from Cameroon Radio and Television (CRTV). It is precisely because of the ravages of the dreaded pandemic that the elite professional championships one and two were suspended on March 17, 2020. They will not be restarted. PWD from Bamenda, leader at least six days to go, is crowned champion of Cameroon. A great first for this legendary club in the North West region. PWD de Bamenda will represent Cameroon in the next African Champions League. Coton Sport de Garoua, ranked second, will represent Cameroon at the next CAF Confederation Cup. No club will be relegated. However, the first two in the Elite two professional championship will go up for an elite one champion with 20 clubs next season. The administrators of FECAFOOT have also decided that the national and regional amateur championships are canceled.
