Decentralized Territorial Communities will be on the front line to help restart our economy

Economy and the Covid-19 pandemic

By multiplying interventions on the ground, the mayors set the tone at the local level, that the municipalities were ready to work hand in hand with the government and the state services to limit, then break the chains of transmission of Covid-19 pandemic in Cameroon. In order to strengthen measures aimed at containing the spread of the coronavirus among the populations, the President of the Republic granted a special gift to the 360 municipalities of the country, composed of medical products and materials. A decision that the new mayors see as being a request to the government not to hinder the actions of the Decentralized Territorial Collectivities (CTD) and to let them innovate and act. Especially since the coronavirus pandemic we are living in is absolutely unprecedented. We know that its consequences will be very serious for our economy and our lifestyles, even if no one is able, for the moment, to assess them with precision. What is certain is that the Decentralized Territorial Communities will be on the front line to help restart our economy.
