Coronavirus: what assessment across the world?

The coronavirus pandemic has killed at least 160,500 people worldwide, according to the count made on Saturday April 18, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. GMT by AFP (Agence Française de Presse) from data collected from the competent national authorities and the WHO. since the onset of the disease in December 2019 in Wuhan in central China. Over 185 countries and territories affected, the pandemic has spread across the globe. The figures are dramatic: in Europe the milestone of 100,000 dead has been crossed, in the United States most affected 41,777 dead out of 782,197 infected, the bar of 1,000 officially registered deaths has been crossed in Africa, three-quarters of which in Algeria , in Egypt, Morocco and South Africa. Table 1 shows the trends in contamination and death in the United States and Europe.

Africa is facing the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic, even if it remains the continent least affected. It lists 22,313 confirmed cases of coronavirus, 1,124 deaths in 52 countries (two non-affected countries Lesotho and Comoros). There are 5,492 people healed. Countries that have crossed the 1,000 mark infected with coronavirus (Table 2):

But for WHO, the pandemic is far from being stopped, with constant or increased figures.
