Regional Directorate of the ADB is officially installed in Yaoundé

ADB selects Yaoundé for subregional leadership

It is for greater rapprochement of the institutions of the subregion and for more efficiency that the regional branch of the African Development Bank Group (ADB) for Central Africa is officially established in Yaounde. This directorate covers the states of the sub-region, ie about ten countries going beyond the CEMAC area. This is to make the institutions closer to the member countries and thus more effective and present on the ground. Before, the management was at the bank's headquarters in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. Thus declared Vice President Khaled Sherif at the ceremony: "The presence of a regional director here means putting a critical mass of resources on the ground to deploy them not only in Cameroon, friends also in the sub-region. After the audience granted by the Prime Minister, Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute. The reasons for Cameroon's choice lie in the resilience of its economy, which has been able to cope with the various shocks that have shaken the sub-region. Cameroon is thus destined to become a subregional hub for the AfDB. It should be noted that the ADB currently conducts around fifty development operations in sectors such as agriculture, transport, health, energy ... in Cameroon. The ceremony of the Headquarters Agreement was signed by the Minister of External Relations, Mbella Mbella, the young person and the head of the AfDB.
