Advocacy for the improvement of the rights of the child
The opportunity was given to students of kindergarten and elementary school of Monatele in the department of Lékié to express themselves through sketches, the need to be protected against any form of violence, exploitation, to be educated . Thus, this June 12 marked the launch of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the International Convention on the Rights of the Child. A space to evaluate the implementation of the Convention for 30 years. This ceremony, held in place of the Monatélé festivities, was presided over by the local administrative authorities and UNICEF officials. Of their fundamental rights, thousands of children are deprived of it in Cameroon. Even more serious is the socio-political climate in which the country is going through the problem. This celebration of the 30th anniversary of the CoE launched at Monatélé aims to set up communication and advocacy actions to influence changes and raise awareness about the problems facing children in Cameroon. Thus, the celebration offers Cameroon the opportunity to reaffirm its commitment to implement this convention that protects the rights of the child.
