A new cement plant with a capacity of 500,000 tons operational in Nomayos (Yaounde)
Nomayos, a suburb of the city of Yaoundé, in the district of Mbankomo is celebrating this April 02, 2019, as the company Cement plants of Cameroon (Cimencam) is officially inaugurating its new plant. The ceremony was chaired by the minister in charge of industry. The monster of steel and aluminum imposes a respect for its architecture and its immense size. It is the result of an investment of nearly 28 billion FCFA with a production capacity of 500,000 tons of cement per year according to the company's estimates. The strategy of its location aims to supply more easily the regions of the Center, South and East. With the new plant inaugurated, we should move towards self-sufficiency and reduced product costs. As a result, we are gradually moving towards the valorisation of raw materials, the creation of direct and indirect jobs. The company's production capacity positions it as the leading domestic producer in this area, since so far the supply market has been dominated by foreign partners. Through this company of Nomayos, Cimencam increases its operational capacity of its factories to 2.2 million tons per year. The commissioning of the new plant can only be good news for the State, the company and the private sector.
