State of play in Cameroon
The digital economy encompasses economic and social activities that are enabled by platforms such as the Internet, mobile and sensor networks, including e-commerce. In Cameroon, the digital economy is booming, even as its contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is still low 3.5%. The public authorities consider the digital economy, the digital sector, and the digitization of the economy as an accelerator of growth and a niche of jobs in Cameroon. They make many reflections in this tone to consolidate not only the acquired ones but much more to adopt new strategies in order to exploit all the opportunities that it carries ("Cameroon Digital Horizon Plan 2020").
