The foundations of the municipality: "Deepen the decentralization for a renovated town"
On the initiative of the new Ministry of Decentralization and Local Development (MINDDEVEL), the first meeting of the town will be held in Yaoundé from February 6 to 7, 2019, on the theme "Deepen decentralization for a renovated commune". This work in which are invited the 360 mayors of Cameroon, 14 delegates of the Government of the Urban Communities based on an observation, the municipality has not yet fully deployed its potential, because of the following problems:
The non-full application of the existing normative framework and the unsatisfactory functioning of certain bodies and bodies;
The poor performance of local taxation which is a hindrance to the financial autonomy of municipalities;
Insufficient quantity and quality of human resources;
Low citizen participation and lack of transparency in the management of local public affairs.
Strongly that these bases materialize the political will of the President of the Republic to accelerate the process of decentralization.
