Celebration of the 41st anniversary of National Renewal, November 06, 2023
Across the country, the majority of Cameroonians have hailed the great wisdom and correctness of the political choices made by His Excellency Paul BIYA, National Chairman of the CPDM, President of the Republic and Head of State, for peace, stability, national unity, democracy, prosperity, security, the inviolability of borders, the integrity of the national territory and the indivisibility of the Republic of Cameroon. At meetings organized in the 10 regional permanent delegations of the Central Committee, CPDM sections proclaimed Paul BIYA their candidate for the next presidential election. "The basic texts of our party are clear", adds Emmanuel NZETÉ, former Government Delegate to the Communauté Urbaine de Bafoussam (CUB). In the Mayo-Tsanaga department of the Far North region, 708 militants who resigned from the Cameroon People's Party (CPP) and the National Union for Democracy and Progress (UNDP) joined the CPDM. A sad note to this celebration was the deadly attack by secessionist fighters on the village of Egbekaw, in the Mamfe Arrondissement, Manyu department in the South-West region, which left almost 40 people dead, many seriously injured and extensive material damage (houses burnt down, etc.).
