The Inter-ministerial Committee on Local Services (CISL) examines the transfer of competences to decentralized territorial authorities (Regions)

The Minister of Decentralization and Local Development (MINDDEVEL), Georges ELANGA OBAM

On April 20, 2023 in Yaoundé, the CISL held its ordinary session with two items on the agenda: review and evaluation of the way in which the regions manage the transferred competences and the means allocated by certain ministerial departments; the revitalization of the CISL. For the first item on the agenda, and to better monitor the management of the areas of urban planning and housing, tourism and recreation, environmental protection, participation in the organization and management of inter-city public transport, the CISL has designed its action plan for the year 2023. The Minister of Decentralization and Local Development (MINDDEVEL), Mr. Georges ELANGA OBAM, president of CISL, invited the members of the committee "to implement the missions assigned to them to ensure the preparation and follow-up of the transfer of competences and resources to the CTD". For the second item on the agenda, an observation was made. Instead of holding four annual sessions provided for in the texts governing the body, it was only able to hold one in 2022. MINDDEVEL promised that the ICFTU will hold its four annual sessions in 2023.
