Mfoundi (Yaoundé): La Préfecture envisage l’enterrement collectif des corps abandonnés à la morgue

The Prefecture considers collective burial of bodies abandoned at the morgue

A total of 54 bodies to be buried, the oldest of which was deposited in 2014. The other remains were deposited between 2016 and 2022, we learn. Nearly a month ago, the management of the hospital made public the list of bodies concerned, inviting families and beneficiaries to come for their identification and removal. "To date, no one has come forward," lamented Dr. MOGUE BOPDA in a report broadcast on January 19 on Canal 2 International. The Departmental Commission in charge of the management of abandoned bodies, chaired by Prefect Emmanuel Mariel DJIKDENT, grants an additional period of "one to two weeks" to families to allow them to come and retrieve the bodies of their deceased before they are buried.
