Promotion of handicrafts: The craft center of Mbalmayo inaugurated at the 1st Congress on bamboo and rattan
The work of the African congress of bamboo and rattan ended on Friday, April 22, 2022 in Yaoundé. They aim to capitalize on a global market of this sector of activity, estimated at 11,000 billion FCFA. The opening was chaired by the Minister of State, Minister of Tourism and Leisure (MINTOUL), Mr. BELLO BOUBA MAIGARI, representative of the Prime Minister Head of Government, on Tuesday 20 April 2022, at the Palais de Congrès in Yaoundé. This first Congress is held under the theme: "Bamboo and rattan as an engine for a resilient and sustainable economy in Africa, in the context marked by the progressive degradation of wood resources of natural origin and the urgency of the fight against climate change. In Cameroon, the city of Mbalmayo has its own special village. The infrastructure was inaugurated yesterday, Thursday, April 21 by the Minister of Small and Medium Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts (MINPMEESA), Mr. Achille BASILEKIN III.
