Mayors want to institutionalize urban co-management

A view of the André Fouda space in Warda Yaoundé

What governance to put in place by the new executives of our decentralized territorial communities to tackle disorder in the markets, eliminate insalubrity, control the phenomenon of motorcycle taxis, etc.
    1. Disorder in the markets: it is a real headache with the invasion of the public road, the anarchic installation of shops, chronic insalubrity, etc. Certain            municipal executives have created permanent committees for the regulation of commercial spaces with a co-management committee with the merchants. These committees are responsible for the construction of markets, roads, etc. It is also about arranging the markets and working so that traders can all find a place inside the markets and avoid too many people and a lot of clutter. A synergy of actions will be ensured between the town halls of the towns and the town halls of the district municipalities.
    2. Rampant insalubrity: the institution of citizen cleanliness days to reduce insalubrity. Some municipalities have imposed fines for all violators of hygiene and sanitation measures.
    3. The phenomenon of mototaxis: the city of Douala is firstly considering the development of motorcycle parking sites in the city's major roundabouts to remedy the almost chronic congestion of said places. Then, professionalize and clean up the motorcycle taxi transport sector, the launch of which is imminent.
